Storm Response & Restoration
Our Commitment to Community Resilience
Every year, River City mobilizes to the front lines during and in the aftermath of hurricanes, fires, tornadoes, snowstorms, and other disasters. Continuously trained crews are ready to get to work immediately following any outage, supported by a modern, expertly maintained fleet that includes specialized distribution and transmission equipment.
Phase 1
Proactive Weather Awareness
We continuously monitor weather patterns to identify potential impacts to our service areas and customers. When conditions begin to change, we proactively engage—opening early conversations with customers and crews to ensure everyone is informed, aligned, and ready to act before disruption occurs.
Phase 2
Customer Communication & Storm Preparation
As forecasts sharpen, we transition from awareness to preparation. Our team collaborates closely with customers and operations to assess potential impacts, define resource needs, and prepare crews for storm scenarios. We strategically identify impact zones, staging locations, and secondary coverage areas, while shifting internal resources to ensure rapid, efficient response.
Phase 3
Pre-Deployment Coordination
Before deployment, every detail is aligned for safe, seamless execution. We establish crew rosters, confirm customer-specific safety and compliance requirements, and coordinate across departments. Equipment, tooling, and fleet resources are tracked and staged, while kickoff calls align all stakeholders on expectations, points of contact, and customer rules and regulations. Dedicated communication channels and required software or application access are set up in advance—so crews arrive prepared and connected from day one.
Phase 4
Active Deployment & Field Execution
Once deployed, communication stays constant. Our operations team maintains real-time touchpoints with field crews, prioritizing safety above all else. Fleet activity, progress, and performance are continuously monitored to ensure efficiency, accountability, and fast response as conditions evolve.
Phase 5
Post-Event Reconciliation
We provide clear, organized reconciliation of all storm response costs—helping customers close out the event and return to normal operations quickly and confidently, with minimal administrative burden.
