NORFOLK, Va., November 6, 2026 – XKIG, a national leader in critical infrastructure services for the power and gas utility sectors, today announced the acquisition of HTC LLC, an Alabama-based provider of utility vegetation management and line clearance, forestry mulching and brush clearing, land clearing and site preparation, emergency storm cleanup services, and residential and commercial tree services.
Founded in 2013, HTC brings more than a decade of experience serving utility companies, municipalities, commercial customers, and property owners throughout southern Alabama. The acquisition strengthens XKIG’s operational presence in the Southeast while expanding its capabilities in utility right-of-way maintenance, specialized land clearing, and storm response.
“HTC has built a strong reputation for dependable service, experienced crews, and a commitment to safety,” said XKIG CEO Randolph Hoover. “This acquisition marks another important step in our strategy to expand our geographic reach and to bring together specialized companies that share our commitment to operational excellence and customer service. We look forward to building on HTC’s established relationships and supporting its continued growth.”
As part of the XKIG portfolio, HTC will gain access to expanded operational resources, industry expertise, and a broader network of infrastructure service companies. The partnership creates opportunities to enhance service delivery, support workforce development, and pursue additional utility and infrastructure projects across the region.
“Joining XKIG offers an exciting opportunity to build on our team’s accomplishments while upholding the relationships and service standards that have defined our business,” said Owner and Co-operations Manager Tommy Thompson.
“With the support of a larger organization, we are positioned to expand our capabilities, create new opportunities for our employees, and continue delivering the quality work our customers expect,” added Cleve Henderson, Owner, Co-operations Manager.
The addition of HTC further advances XKIG’s strategy to bring together established, specialized service providers to meet the evolving needs of utility and infrastructure customers. Alongside portfolio companies such as Xylem Tree Experts, Kendall Vegetation Services, River City Construction, and Canopy Infrastructure Solutions, HTC adds field expertise and regional capacity to an organization focused on infrastructure reliability, resilience, and long-term customer partnerships.
